3D echocardiographic quantification in functional mitral regurgitation.

چکیده
o a i “ l f o t i o Functional mitral regurgitation typically occurs in patients with ischemic cardiomyopathy or idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy and is independently associated with excessive morbidity and mortality (1–8). In functional mitral regurgitation, it has been demonstrated that abnormal mitral valve kinematics result from a restriction of leaflet closure as a result of enhanced apical tethering of the mitral valve leaflets due to displaced papillary muscles, dilation of the mitral annulus, and reduced closing force of the leaflets without primary valve leaflet pathology.

اثر PercutaneousCoronary Intervention Elective بر بهبودی نارسایی ایسکمیک میترال
Introdution: Ischemic mitral regurgitation (IMR) remains one of the most complex and unresolved aspects of ischemic heart disease that the impact of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) on improvement of intensity of ischemic mitral regurgitation is not well clarified. Patients with coronary artery diseases and ischemic mitral regurgitation have a worse prognosis than the patients with coro...

Background: Percutaneous Transeptal Mitral Commisurotomy (PTMC) has been used in treating mitral stenosis with variable success, its main complication being mitral incompetence. There is a need to define the subgroup of the patients who benefit mostly from the procedure. Methods: We studied 110 patients (age 17 to 60 years mean 33.2) with mitral stenosis. PTMC was performed though femoral vein....
متن کاملQuantification of functional mitral regurgitation by real-time 3D echocardiography: comparison with 3D velocity-encoded cardiac magnetic resonance.
OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to evaluate feasibility and accuracy of real-time 3-dimensional (3D) echocardiography for quantification of mitral regurgitation (MR), in a head-to-head comparison with velocity-encoded cardiac magnetic resonance (VE-CMR). BACKGROUND Accurate grading of MR severity is crucial for appropriate patient management but remains challenging. VE-CMR with 3D three-...
متن کاملAcute reverse annular remodeling during MitraClip® therapy predicts improved clinical outcome in heart failure patients: a 3D echocardiography study
BACKGROUND Transcatheter mitral valve repair (TMVR) has been shown to have acute effects on mitral valve geometry in patients with functional mitral regurgitation (FMR). This study investigates the impact of MitraClip® therapy-induced annular remodeling on clinical outcome and mitral regurgitation in heart failure patients. METHODS TMVR was performed successfully in 45 patients with FMR. In t...
متن کاملThe Influence of Aortic Valve Replacement on Functional Moderate - To-Severe Mitral Regurgitation in Patients with Aortic Valve Stenosis
GOAL The aim of this study was to show whether the concomitant functional mitral regurgitation in patients undergoing aortic valve replacement improves after this surgical procedure and to identify preoperative echocardiographic parameters that may influence the lack of improvement in mitral regurgitation (MR) after aortic valve replacement (AVR). MATERIAL AND METHODS The study included 45 pa...
